Lately- Festive October

To start this monthly post here's a random photo of June eating breakfast.

And I felt like I had a lot of cuddle photos with Hazel but I also get lots of June cuddles so I made sure to get one here.

Buck and I went to a home show for a date night. We found some cool things for the future but over all there were a lot of booths for gutters, solar panels, and funeral homes... ? So random! 

But also, I guess I need a wall like this in my future home, but in different colors. It was only like $3,000 so no big deal, right?

And we ended up leaving with new pillows, an obligation to go to some time share presentation later this month, and signed up for local milk delivers to out home. I don't think we should ever go to a home show again... but seeing Buck with this massive bag made me laugh.

Afterwards we went to sushi for dinner at the place we did our sushi making class. We got our free chop sticks we earned for winning best sushi roll. And then I made Buck uncomfortable by taking photos of him.

The girls got invited to a Fancy Nancy birthday party for Elora and it was a dream come true as June especially has been obsessed with these books.

During this month I had the chance to go to the Give conference like I did last year, a place for non profits to come together. I was able to have my non profit displayed in the poster area. Good times.

I learned some things and won a $25 iTunes gift card. Other than that I was way too pregnant and emotional to handle this event and I felt like a loser the whole time. Here's to next year!

One evening the local fire station was having an open house and they were giving out free fire alarms so we went because we haven't had a fire alarm since June was a newborn and the one we had kept going off randomly and waking her up so one day in my postpartum rage I ripped it from the wall and bashed it repeatedly against the counter. . . so.... yeah. We haven't had one basically the whole time we've lived here. Oops.

So we went and got the fire alarm and a free bike helmet! We also got cookies and drinks and voted on second grader fire art. Then we got to go out and tour all the trucks and ambulances. Hazel was pretty nervous about the whole thing. Too much for her little toddler mind to grasp I think. We got to watch a fireman go down the fire pole too. And then, in such grand display, the alarm went off and they were sent away on a real fire call so we got to watch them quickly suit up, get in the trucks and race off with their lights and sirens. June thought it was awesome! But Hazel just said, “I want to go home!” haha poor girl. So finally we went home.

I tried to make spooky jack-o-lantern waffles one morning and I failed.

The most amazing and adorable jumpers that my sister made for the girls. I need to do a full photo shoot of them soon just because they look so cute in them!

Family Sunday dinner at the in laws. Buck's cousin recently returned home after living in Japan for five years so he taught us how to make all sorts of Japanese food and it was great! The girls loved helping too.

I just love our big tree and how it changes through the year and how it changes all day as the sun crawls across the sky.

We had an extra special family night one time and went to see the Willy Wonka play! The girls loved it.

June had fall break from school for three days. This meant she got to go to Hazel's tumbling class with her and Hazel was SO excited and proud to show June around.

Just a reminder that I did this and I thought it was a good idea. But now certain colors wont fade and I may be feeling some regret....

This is why we fear going to restaurants. Or at least Buck does.

For a few years now i kept tossing too small kid clothes into random boxes in the shed telling myself, "I'll deal with this later." Well, "later" finally came and it was horrific. Like 8 hours of sorting, getting rid of, organizing, and buying bins and still ending up with way too many baby clothes... Never again.

Trying to be a "fun mom" and do some face painting for no other reason than we can.

We had a few weeks off swimming lessons but they started up again the end of the month!

So big news! Buck's sister, Jade, had her baby girl on the 30th! I got to be in the room the whole time to take photos. I will show more in another post soon!

I've been tired and pregnant and stuff and June was so cute one day by bringing me some mac and cheese in a pretty bowl and asking how else she could help and take care of me.

That same day she went around cleaning and said that Jesus told her she needed to. haha
