We all slept well in that inn keepers house. The sun rose warmly, the air was quiet. The girls took over our bed.
Breakfast was ready for us when we got down there. Fresh blueberry pancakes and a bowl of yellow watermelon and honeydew.
After that we spent the whole morning just hanging out and exploring, being there in that small corner of the world.
She was not impressed with the strong sea breeze on the ramp ...
There
was a moment when Buck and I got to sit quietly of those chairs
overlooking the ocean. I realized that silence like that in a
beautiful place give the stage to show a person what their true
thoughts really are. What they care most about, feel, want. I loved discovering what was most important in my mind. What would you think about?
Sadly we had to leave around lunch time. The cook packed us a lunch for the boat ride back. On the way out we stopped at the tiny gift store by the dock.
The boat ride back was uneventful in all the best ways.
Once we got back we had to drive a bit to get to our next destination, Bar Harbor, Maine. We stayed at an interesting place where there is this old mansion that's been turned into an inn but it's surrounded by an actual hotel owned by the same people. But you know us, we stayed in the mansion.
So done with the day.
Not a bad view

We
found the perfect place. A lobster pot restaurant. It had red picnic
tables inside. Nothing fancy. That's how you know it will be good
legit. There was a guy outside in a hut. On one side he had
tubs full of running water and lobsters and on the other there were
smoking barrels of hot water that we was dropping the poor guys into
with some cobs of corn. We ordered lobster and lobster rolls so we
got our fill. And June got to take home two bright red empty claws.
On the way out the guy boiling the unaware crustaceans let us some
watch and touch some of them. He pulled out an enormous five pound
lobster with a claw the size of my face. He taught us a little about
lobstering. It was perfect.

"Uneventful in all the best ways!" Love it! This trip seems pretty magical!
I had lobster once, but I didn't like it. I LOVE all other crustaceans, though, so maybe I just got a bad lobster.
Hazel face down on the bed=best photo I've ever seen! Also I miss Maine.
