Is it already May? Well, alright then, let's start this off with a super cute photo of Hazel:
Fun times with friends at the Curiosity Museum
June is becoming quite the master builder with her blocks!
She's also really into taking photos with my camera. I'll have to make a separate post showcasing some of her master pieces.
Hazel climbs more than June ever did and it's hard to get used to. Every time I turn around she's up on something new!
June's taken an interest in self help literature.
Simple afternoons
I got this package in the mail and had no idea who it was from until an old high school friend called and told me it was from her. It's tea and a lens mug so that we could have a facetime tea party! I love my friends! (except, you know, I'll be sticking with that herbal tea at the bottom there.)
If anyone is looking for the most hideous jacket that has never been in style during any point of history then look no more- H&M is here for you.
They were doing an earth day project at the aquarium and June drew her favorite animal, which, according to her that day, was an octopus. So that's what she drew, I loved it!
More Aquarium photos, they have a play yard now.
Some days are like:
One of my besties from collage came to visit!
And apparently there was a cool sunset that night!
So then we went to a karaoke place. It was so funny and weird. I can't remember the last time I left the house AT 8:30 to go hang out with some girl friends. But my friend Erin and I did "summer nights" from Grease and everyone loved my John Travolta moves, because you all know I did the guy vocals. It was a real classy, high end joint.
A tulip from our yard did this when we put it in a vase of water for a few days. How... artistic of it:
You guys. We went to the Tulip festival I think 7 times within a month. But don't get me wrong, we enjoyed every time that we went! This particular time shown here was with a group of young mommy friends from the area.
Dental work. I ended up getting a root canal. Long story short- this was not my fault! I floss and brush EVERY DAY. This was a result from some poor dental work done years ago. I'm just thankful to finally have it fixed and the pain gone. Almost as thankful as you all are of this picture of me. I asked the hygienist how many people she saw take "selfies" there and she said "not many actually" so I did this in secret. All for you, my friends.
I got a new camera. And a new camera strap that makes it even more mine. I love it so so much!
What pizza night looks like in this house. Are we feeding an army? Nope, just our fatty selves. No shame.
Cuddles with June!
So the other day I actually won something! I won $100 to Zurchars party store! I am SO EXCITED about this, because if you know me, then you know I love to throw parties. So I think I will use this money to throw a party to celebrate winning this money. Right?
Another day at the Curiosity Museum. This time we went to a music class they hold once a week. We learned about South American music and June got to make a shaker. Good times. And I have no idea why this balloon thing was there, but it's impressive right?
Whiskey has really become a popular guy. The cat and dog are obsessed. But mostly just Abe is, our dog. He is fixated on him 90% of the day now. Abe isn't eating or sleeping, he's so stressed and anxious about it! But just the past couple of days he is starting to relax again. Shessh.
June is obsessed with the big books in our book case. There are about three of them that she is always pulling out and "reading" stories from. This particular one is her ultimate favorite. She calls it her "scriptures" and has decorated it. I think it is hilarious and well, awesome.
Who let me go to Costco alone? What on earth am I going to do with this much salt water taffy?!
But I'll tell you what, I love this stuff, it's a whole experience for me.
Have you ever watched it being made? They pull and stretch it, the
sugar glimmering in the light, the colors marbling around each other.
When you eat a fresh piece it feels so smooth and chewy in your
cheeks. And you should see all the colors in the bag that I bought!
Greens and blues, red and pink, purple, yellow- all bursting together
in harmonious colors! And then they had to go and name it “Salt
Water Taffy” so when I pop one of them in my mouth, I'm instantly
transported in my mind to a board walk along the beach, salty breeze
in my hair, waves crashing onto the sand. Sun, laughter. Salt water
taffy man. It's no joke.
And it's a good thing I got some candy stashed up because everyone got sick this past week. (well June didn't but I can't talk about that or I'll jinx her!)
First Hazel got a super high fever,
And then Buck ended up super sick and at the doctors office looking like this:
Hazel ended up with croup and Buck got mono (!) and bronchitis. Goodness! My poor babies. Hazel only wanted to be held by ME of course. So the days looked like this:
Meanwhile June and I escaped and got slurpees just in case it was our final chance to live life.
And sure enough, here I sit with a nasty sinus infection. How we all got so sick but with different things I'll never understand. I'm just grateful it wasn't worse and that we are all getting better finally.
So to end this long post, I leave you with the amazing drawings that June draws:
This is Ariel, note the red hair and Flounder is somewhere there also:
A picture of her daddy:
"Jesus and me"
A family of robots:
Several "maps to home"
And a couple of earthquakes. (is she predicting the future?)
And that's all for this time! Hope you are all happy and staying more healthy than us!

I love the photo dumps. However, it makes it hard to pick any specific thing out but I do love the first picture of Hazel. Just so many fun things and pictures. So glad to see them all.
That first cute picture of Hazel? Seth has a stuffed monkey exactly like that! I love salt water taffy, and Utah has the best, btw. We got some at the beach in Delaware this summer and it was nowhere near as good! Although the beach was awesome!
