Dance Recital 2015

Since the beginning of the year June has been attending a dance and gymnastics class and it's been so great for her. Last week they had a little dance recital in the studio and all the parents got to come and watch. June was so proud to have her daddy there.

The girls did a tap dance and a ballet dance and they each did a solo. The first girl who did her solo just spun around in circles so of course that's what the other girls did. It was cute.

Then we went down to the gym and they showed us their routines. June is a cautious child and a lot these things made her nervous or scared but she has done such a good job trying new things and being brave but at the same time knowing her limits and being true to herself.

Like this hang was a big deal for her!

Hazel was cute. She had watched the girls standing on their dots so she found a pile of them and started setting them out and standing on them.
But then tragedy struck.  June sat down on something and it gave her a decent cut in her knee. After that point she cried and cried, refused to walk or do anything else for her recital. I felt bad for her. It was kind of sad. She had been so excited!
But she got her medal!  But then she was not happy when I tried to put her on the little stand.

Buck surprised her with a rose though and that cheered her up.

She was scared to get a bandaid and made me put a whole ace bandage on her leg instead. That's not dramatic at all. ;)

We love our little June bug. Despite the wound, she has loved making new friends, learning new things, and growing her confidence.

That really was a decent cut...I can see it in the picture! She looks so cute in spite of the tears!

Such cute pictures. Sad it had to end on a low note for her but I guess the Rose made it end on a high note. Those first dance recital's are so funny and fun b
