Breakfast with Santa

While our kids are young I have decided to try out different traditions and find which ones we like the best. That way when they are a little older we can have some set in place for the holidays, although I know some things have to change as the years go. But whatever, this year I decided to try Thanksgiving Point's Breakfast with Santa event. 

They had a short little presentation on stage at the beginning to introduce everything.

We got in line to see Santa at the beginning of the event. We had to wait a little while but once we got on the stage the girls were entertained by the tree.

Children everywhere! Some of them were going crazy. Ah, Christmas.

When it was finally our turn June got all shy as Santa asked her if she had been a good girl. He asked if she picked up her toys and brushed her teeth. Then he asked what she wanted and she quickly said what she had been rehearsing for a couple weeks, "A Frozen microphone and a lighting up ball." (both items had been desired while we were shopping one day last month and I told June she can't have everything she wants but maybe she could ask Santa for them. And she did not forget what I told her! haha so I've had to be more careful in what I say as we shop now or else her list will grow too long!) ;)

We threw Hazel at Santa and said "Good Luck!" but then she didn't cry! With all her attachment issues we wondered but I think she was so confused by our confident toss to the man with a beard that she didn't have time to process what was happening. So both girls just looked a little unsure. Haha!

And after allllll of that we got our breakfast. French toast, eggs, bacon, sausage and juice or hot chocolate. Not bad! While we ate the elf came around and talked to June. Later he had a dance party as well. June liked him.

After that we did a couple of the activities they had.

Then we made a paper chain to count down the days till Christmas.

There were other things to do but that was all we had the energy for.

On our way out we stopped to look at the nativity they had set up. I'm all about Santa and elves, and making it a "breakfast with Jesus" would have been weird, but it was nice to end with this sight and again try and teach June the reason for Christmas.

Overall it was a fun activity. It wasn't mind blowing but as a tradition it might be worth it because all I have to do is pay money and show up! ;)
