A week before Hazel turned six months she started sitting up. This is my favorite milestone because I remember when June first sat up she calmed down a considerable amount. It's been liberating for Hazel as well. These photos are from that first day.
I'm not sure I've ever been somewhere where there have been SO MANY thunderstorms in one summer month. The occasional cuddle-inspiring storm is great BUT these late night wake-up-my-babies storms seriously need to calm down.
As I went into the grocery store...

When we got home in the storm June got out of the car and then gasped while looking across the street, "Look! Mom! LOOK! JESUS IS COMING! Look! He's right there!!" I can only assume she was referring to these field lights. Either that or He was coming in that storm! (I wish)
My friend Alicia does foster care for the Humane Society. She recently had five baby kittens! I WANT THEM ALL. Even Hazel was intrigued and softly pet them.
I'm still obsessed with the rainbows that come through my prismatic front window. I mean, LOOK AT IT.
June loves playing hide-&-seek. But she always tells you where she's hiding.
My friend Carrie bought this cute strawberry dress for Hazel- just because!
We have left the house a couple times. One time we ventured to the Curiosity Museum.
And then got snow cones
Alicia brought the kittens over to visit one day. June went bonkers.
Some mornings June and I get cuddle time while Hazel sleeps.
More storms. Always storms. But I can't complain as much when they make rainbows.
Hazel had to get a ton of immunizations when she turned six months. Those retched things gave her a super high fever and it was sad. But I guess it's better than polio.
A couple weekends ago we went to Logan so I could photograph a wedding. We stopped by my relatives house first. June got some animal time in and we saw the chickens that we will be butchering soon.... gulp.
The wedding was a lot of fun and beautiful! Buck had to come along with the girls since, you know, Hazel wont take a bottle so she has to go everywhere I go. Also, they had printed life size photos of the engagements I took for them and it was rewarding to see my work so large! haha
June and Ada were thick as thieves all night stealing cupcakes... but at least then they shared their loot.

Last month we were like, lets budget better this month. And then we went out to eat.
And June was INSANE. Lesson learned.
Hazel still sleeps in our room because this past month she decided to go from being the best sleeper to the worst. She has upgraded to a pack and play bed at least.
On the warm days we still saunter out to the back yard. This particular day I just laid there and June told me stories.
Later there was swinging.
And then some peanut butter toast and peaches with cream.

The leaves are starting to change! I guess this fall thing is going to be for reals.
We took a drive to the lake one night. I was fascinated by the different lighting and colors that surrounded us. These are from the same point I sat, just the 360 view. From soft pinks to bright gold to deep purples ad blues. Light is CRAZY!
I like when friends visit. I like it even more when I have fresh spearmint to make tea and peaches from my trees to serve.
Aaaannnd.... that's about it for now!

Your storm pictures are excellent. Charlie has the same rules for hide and seek as June and I'm sad we missed the peaches.
I love the picture of June hiding in the closet! Oh, and wait until you take your kids out to eat and they decide they are too big to order from the kids' menu! That's when you stop taking them out to eat, unless you want irreparable damage done to the budget!
