| Baby Hazel watching from inside while being held by her great grandma |
On Saturday we tried one of those free egg hunts. We found one at the Zermatt resort in Midway. We were a few minutes late so naturally, all the eggs were gone. So I let June take a rock home... and somehow she stole a candy off some kid.
She didn't seem to mind not having any eggs though. Instead she gathered flowers and leaves like a true princess would.
There was also a carnival afterwards. June tumbled around in the bounce house and saw the easter bunny and then we called it day.
Thanks to my mom sending us a package, we had a great basket with some books and bath paints waiting for June. We added the Frozen soundtrack and called it good.
We also made these marshmallow "peeps"
My mom also sent us this egg hunt that is Christ centered. Each egg has a scripture and object that teaches about His atonement, crucifixion, and resurrection. So even though I didn't make that I felt like a productive mom.
This Easter I learned a good lesson.
I am never going to a free egg hunt again. The one we did wasn't so bad but I heard about the other ones and it seems like we're teaching our kids to stress out and then race to get all the candy you can for yourself. Normally I don't care how people celebrate but this community tradition feels messed up to me. And parents go crazy trying to make sure their kids get all the eggs too! It's nutso. And I rarely use the word "nutso."
Anyway, holidays are fun regardless and I love having kids.
The End.

Yeah we did the Christ centered egg hunt on Sunday and it was really special for us.
And we nixed the community hunt this year... just did it in our backyard. Maybe when they're older and understand empathy haha!
^^^Not from Scott Chapman. Whoops! I was logged in as him :)
Anna. It is never inappropriate to be dressed as Cinderella. Just thought I would clarify.
haha! I love princess June!
Best Easter Lessons ever. I love the photo of Hazel through the window! **Sweet**!
We have a meaning of Easter egg hunt thing too...had it for years, and I always look forward to doing it!
Not going to lie. This post makes me feel better about my car trouble. I think I am with you on the public hunt thing. It's way more fun to just do one is your backyard. People are crazy!
Also, you are going to have to fill me in on this make your own peep thing. haha! Sounds intense.
