Date Night

For our main date this month we decided to do something that has been on my list for a couple years now.

But first we got to go out to eat thanks to a gift card Buck had.

Lovely, I know.

And as for the exciting activity?
Roller skating!

haha
It was fun, even though it took me awhile to get my sea legs.

I did learn, however, that when Buck was younger that he and his friends would go to the local roller  skating rink to try and find girls to hold hands with. But he reassured me that it was a cool roller rink because there was a half pipe.

At one point I insisted that Buck show me how fast he could skate around the rink. And I watched him glide around I couldn't help but laugh. I tried to imagine 13 year old Buck skating around in a black t-shirt with heavy metal music in his ears. And then I compared it to now- a tall man in a button up "casual" shirt, about to get his masters and go onto a PHD. 13 year old Anna would have totally had a crush on 13 year old Buck. But I am glad that we are who we are today, all grown up and stuff. (yet still roller skating)

And to end the night perfectly, we got an ICEE and donuts!

Date night is a highlight for me every month... I wish we could do it every week but I am grateful for the time we do get. (And I am super grateful to my cousins for watching June!)

Roller skating dates are the best...and that is funny to picture Buck as a 13 year old!

Roller Skating...oh yeah! That was so much fun when I was younger. Probably still is, just don't know a place around here to do that.
