Happy Anniversary to US.
It's kind of funny to me that it's only been two years. I mean, we have a one year old daughter. Wasn't that suppose to happen later? We've been to Hawaii twice together. And North Carolina. We've survived the first year of grad school. Bought a house. Grown tomatoes, squash, and peaches. And watched the entire series of Boy Meets World.
Maybe it seems odd because it feels like we've been in love for about 80 years.
I still never get sick of him. I'm never bothered, not in the way that I need space or time. (maybe just when he leaves his dirty socks in the living room. Every Single Night.) ;) But really, I just want to be with him any chance I get. I think and hope he feels the same way. Having new experiences without him seem pointless- I just want to do everything with him.
And I never believed in the whole soul mate thing that the world sings about. But lately I've wondered. As I read through old journals or remember the past- it's crazy that we ended up together- CRAZY. There were so many reasons that it should have gone wrong or not worked out but somehow I ended up with the most perfect person for me. There really could not be anyone else. I feel sure of this. It seems we were always destined to be together. Yep- destined. I don't often use that word, especially for this stuff, but goodness- God was looking out for me. And He gave me the best better-half I ever could have asked for. Heaven is where he is.
So being sealed in the temple two years ago is a pretty big deal to us. I'm kind of tragic and I often fear and wonder what I would do if anything ever happened to Buck. But knowing that we will go on for all of everything and be together for eternity- over and beyond this life, past time and into forever- that gives me peace. That gives me motivation and purpose. We started something this day two years ago that goes further than any anniversary.
And we're happy.
I used to ask my friends, after they were first married a few months, what was the most surprising thing to them about marriage now. I got some interesting answers. When I got to that point I asked myself the same question. The only answer I could think of was, "That I'm so happy." The world told me it would be hard and horrible. So far, the world has been wrong. And I learned that I got to decide how my life would be, not the world. Not ever.
I mean all of this from the bottom of my heart of hearts.
I was terrified to get married but the second I said "I do." (or "yes...") was the second that all changed. Peace flooded my fears.
Whoever said that a (LDS) mission was "the best two years" is absolutely insane. ;)
So far these two years take the cake.
And speaking of cake. I thought it would be fun to put up some of my favorite photos from our big day. Yay for two years and yay for the rest to come!
We had breakfast at our night reception! It was always a life goal of mine.

And I loved the cake! (even though I don't think I ate any of it... ha)

Hands down, the best photo of Buck.
It really was a great day. But it has only lead to better ones.

ok two things: tyler leaves his socks in the living room every day too! and i fully agree that the years being married are way better than the years on a mission :)
That's so sweet! Congrats on 2 years of happiness and much more to come :)
It seems so weird to see these wedding pictures with just you and Buck... I kept waiting to see June too! She's just part of the package so it's weird to think there was a time when she wasn't here. ;-)
Perfect post, perfect pictures, love it all.
Two years...wow! Time flies! I agree, I've enjoyed being married a lot more than my mission. (Not that my mission wasn't great in many ways too.) Even after 20 years! :)
There wasn't much time when she wasn't part of the family in some way.
I had to comment on this, love your pictures! So beautiful and perfect!
Anna you have a gift of story telling, this will be a great blessing to your children as you share your many great memories of life! we were remembering your day too! can't believe it's been 2 years but on the other hand it seems like it has been forever--in a good way! you definitely compliment one another and can tell it's a true union with each happily situated with the other!
