My point is that sometimes I find this part of me that really wants to try natural child birth- you know, to see if I could do it.
But then I realized that this part of me also resides within the part of me that wants to try and climb Mt. Everest all the way to the summit- you know, to see if I could do it. (people DIE trying to do this)
So.... maybe I'll just try and focus on getting somewhere practical, like BASE CAMP, if you know what I mean (only 17,388 ft as opposed to the top which is 29,035 ft.)
Oooorr, maybe I will just try and "hike the Y" here in Provo, if you know what I mean. That seems like challenge enough....
Yes.
Or Maybe I will just take it one step at a time.

Best of luck to you!! Getting that baby out of your body is tough no matter how you do it, so trust yourself and go with what YOU want, not what others tell you.
Women have been having babies for millions of years and they live to have another (and are willing!), you'll do great!! Oh, and honestly, being pregnant is WAY harder than labor and delivery (just think, labor lasts a few hours and pregnancy is nine long months!!). You've got most of the hard stuff out of the way.
GOOD LUCK!!
One step at a time is a great idea! Just do what is best for you. You will probably surprise yourself with how much you can handle. You are stronger than you think! :)
PS--I agree with the first comment. Being pregnant is much harder than giving birth! You've made it this far--three cheers for you! Pregnancy is definitely not for wimps.
Anna! I could not have put that better! Yes- wanting a natural childbirth resides in the same: "but I bet I could hike Mt. Everest if I really wanted to" place in my heart too.
completely agree. there's enough pain to go through in life. why not bypass some of it if you can?
having had 6 without an epidural I would say you can do it even though you think you can't--BELIEVE me! And if you get to the hospital and you are an 8 or 9 they may not let you have one so just be prepared! BUT all that said a light epidural, like I had with Gwen, is a great way to go, especially if you are exhausted. Do what is best for her and your body. We are so excited she will be here soon!
Here I am checking your blog after months of not having time to do blogs at all--and June is already here. I had 3 of my 4 children without medication, and I could NEVER climb Mt. Everest! But the last one I had an epidural and if I had been able to have any more children after that, I would have had epidurals with them as well! After having Ammon with an epidural and comparing it to the other three births, my only thoughts were, WHAT WAS I THINKING?! Why didn't I get an epidural every time? Ha, still glad I've tried it both ways, and it's good to be prepared to not have one because sometimes you don't have a choice--like me with the first two, and it's a lot less ugly if you've learned some coping strategies. I'm just glad June-bug got here safely and relatively quickly. Well done!!
