Poor little Rosie! She had some added trauma to her month of March!
Buck was carrying her down the stairs to bed one night and he slipped and fell. The pain was instant and adrenaline was going through Rose's body. Buck was injured too. It was crazy because the fall itself wasn't super crazy. Thankfully Buck only limped around for a few days and then was okay. But Rose was not.
She was insistant that it was her knee. She was in such pain that I took her in the next day. They x-rayed her knee but found it was fine and said to come back in five days or so if she still wouldn't use it or it looked swollen.
(also, going into the hospital right now is like going into a weird eerie war zone.... )
Well, it did. And she wouldn't use it.
Her knee seemed to be somewhat okay though, like we could push it and even straighten and bend it.... but there were certain things that sent her crying in pain... and I knew her cries and it was more than just fear. So I took her back in, to a specailist this time. They nearly sent me home saying her knee seemed fine but I knew that wasn't right so I pressed them and they decided to take an X-ray of her whole leg. Why on earth they didn't do that the first time, I'll never know! But sure enough- her freaking femur was broken!!!! I wanted to cry, I felt so bad thinking of the pain she'd been in all week!
But now she's being properly treated. She's in a crazy splint thing that we're trying so that she doesn't have to get this crazy cast that goes onto both legs. Hopefully this works! We find out in a week if it's working well.
Friends hadn family have been so kind to video call her, bring her balloons (not not come in, of course), drop off ice cream, and send her some gifts of things to do while stuck on the couch.
Here's to no more broken bones! 💪

Poor, poor Rose! I hope it works. The casts needed for that are probably the worst in existence!
Wow, definitely broken!! Poor Rose!! Tanner broke his leg when he was 6. (A spiral fracture in one of the lower leg bones...sorry, can't remember the actual name of the bone.) I still remember how traumatic that was for me, as a mother. I knew immediately that something was really wrong because Tanner wouldn't walk or let me move his leg. Frank took him to the ER. When he called me to say that his leg was actually broken, I felt sick to my stomach thinking about the pain my little guy was in! Between the emotional weight and the demands of caring for him, Frank and I felt like we'd been hit by a truck those first couple of days. And then he fell and re-broke it a few weeks later! He had to have a full leg cast for a while after that. But things did get better! I still remember how many people sent him cards and got him things like little Lego sets to build so he'd have things to do. That was so nice! I hope the splint works and that Rose recovers quickly!!
