Hazel- 6 Months!

Dear Hazel,

I can't believe it! You're half a year already! What on earth... how did that happen already?! I've really been enjoying you and your cute little baby-ness. I'm not ready for you to get too old.

Just this week you started sitting up on your own! It's so exciting! The first day you were already playing games with it. I would sit you up on the bed and then you would push yourself over and start laughing.
You are SO curious. June was curious too, but in a different way. She didn't have to touch everything but YOU- you want and need to touch and examine all things. Even the potatoes I'm using as I make dinner, for example. They are not very interesting for most babies but you wont be satisfied until you've checked them out.

You love your toes and your blankets. You love wrappers and loose papers. You even are interested already in animals and were abnormally soft in petting a small kitten the other day.
You LOVE your big sister. You both sit right next to each other in the car and you make each other laugh and it makes me soo so happy.

Everyone remarks on your big smile and eyes. Your eyes are so blue! So far they are much lighter and bluer than mine or June's.
You already seem to know your grandparents and such. You smile at them and interact when we have video calls. You're a smart girl.

As much as I am loving this baby stage I am still excited to see who you will become. It's already so great.

We all love you. Here's to the next half year! gulp

Love, mom

At six months Hazel:
Is probably 12-13 pounds
Sits up, rolls over both ways
Sleeps through the night
Still very aware of mom and wants only her
Wont take a bottle
Doesn't eat other food yet
Curious, alert, observant, aware, inquisitive, smiley, excited, silly, opinionated, easy offended... passionate?

(all's well that end well... right? haha)
