Overwhelmed by what Anna? You may be asking...
Well, to name a few things, I'm completely overwhelmed by these:
Happiness
Gratitude &
Blessings
Can we just talk about this? (and if you don't want to then don't read this....sometimes I get carried away) This isn't anything new that I'm feeling, I've been overwhelmed for a long time, really, my whole life. But these past several months I have felt it even more. [It doesn't mean that I don't also feel the real emotions that come with life like frustration (at Utah traffic) and fear (of becoming a mother) and annoyance (at dirty dishes.) Etc etc etc....]
There are lots of reasons why I feel this way. Reasons like my family- both the one I've had all my life and my new family I got through marriage. How on earth am I so blessed? No. But really... It's out. of. control!
Then there are all my wonderful friends. Especially those of you who I get to see and/or talk to all the time- you brighten my life. And I love those of you who keep up with me through blogs and phone calls. Everyone I've met! I'm so grateful!
But the two I want to highlight right now are:
First- my husband. Being married. Getting married was scary. There are so many things that can go wrong. BUT it's almost been six months-- and-- I'm allowed to talk about this first half of my year because I'm suppose to be in the "the-first-year-is-the-hardest" part of marriage. What IS that all about? It has been GREAT. No GRAND. Simply GLORIOUS. If this is the hardest then I'm excited to see year two. I have probably never felt so much peace in my life. This peace came with making a choice- the choice to marry someone wonderful in the temple. I, Anna, made an actual long term commitment- and in it I found that happiness. I love what I am beginning to learn about love and I love Buck. He is marvelous. And I am eternally committed.
Second- my faith. My God and my savior. This religion that I believe in- that I know to be true. It has been the number one thing that brings me peace. I can't even describe it. The older I get and the more I live it- the more I feel it become apart of me. Flowing with my blood to my heart, keeping me alive. Etched into my bones, seeping into marrow. It's there in my foot prints, it's in my frozen January breath.
I cannot deny it.
Nothing man-made or thought up by man could cause me to feel such. This peace is divine, it leaves me reverent and ever whispers to me of it's truth.
I honestly just feel happy everyday. I don't need things for this feeling. Just the life I already have.
