Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I've been a bit silent around here but that's only because I am constantly getting my trash kicked by motherhood. haha But we're still happy and alive! And of course always attempted to do something for holidays. 

I know some people hate the small holidays like St. Patrick's day but I think that's why I love them, because they are small and the pressure is off (except that now kids all think they need to make leprechaun traps?!) And as usual, I don't decorate for the month, but more so have a party set up for the girls to wake up to the day of. 

This year we had two days of festivities though. Since St. Patty's was on Sunday, we also had a fun dinner Saturday and invited some friends from the neighborhood over. We had mini shepherds pies, some Irish stew, soda bread with green shamrock butter, fancy green jello, and rainbow fruit. The kids got fruit, bread, and shamrock shaped raviolis. For dessert we had mint brownies! Oh and I made some green butter beer and it was a bit too rummy.... you can't win them all I guess.

  Sunday morning the girls got this cereal, of course.

And then real magic happened when a leprechaun (a neighbor 😁) surprised us with these beauties! (And later on someone else left us a plate of shamrock cookies! We are spoiled here!)

It was fun to use green Christmas dresses for church. ;) 

 June and Buck made a leprechaun trap. For some reason I've tried to avoid this but this year there was no stopping her. There was fake gold in the box hooked to a string and when the string was pulled, the string was hooked to the toy car that was then triggered to go down the ramp and knock the box down, trapping the leprechaun.

 Only to find that they had been tricked and left with chocolate leprechauns!
