Hi! It's time to tell the tale of our trip to Disneyland. And apparently I can't think of a better way to start this post. It's fine.
So. We did not drive there like most people in Utah seem to do. I guess I am a wimp but I just didn't want to do it... so we flew! And for whatever reason, I took too many photos of the very short flight.
I made June switch me. She had some things to say about that.
"I am going to Disneyland right now. I'm on a plane. I got moved by my mom, now I'm by... not my sister but by a stranger. But lucky me she is asleep with a pink mask on."
How a wiggly one year old feels on a flight...
And three girls.
Once we were there and checked into our hotel, we ventured to Downtown Disney where we ate dinner, got some mouse ears, and did some exploring of all the shops. We didn't go to the park this day, we were waiting for my family to get in from their flights!
And now, in order to consolidate my posts a tiny bit, I am going to jump ahead in the story to a couple days later. By this point we had spent a whole day at Disneyland and then another day at the beach. That evening after the beach we went to the Disney Halloween party, Oogie Boogie Bash. It was at the California Adventure Park.
But first, it's important to note that since we spent the day at the beach that we had decided it wasn't worth the extra $money$ to get tickets for Buck and Dan when the two little boys would just be tired and grumpy. (Which is a poorly worded sentence that makes Buck and Dan sound like little sad boys but it's funny so I'm leaving it.) So they stayed back with Johnny and Harvey. They went to dinner at swam and got the babies down for an early bed time.
Meanwhile the rest of us partied! Most people dress up for the Halloween party, and of course pretty much all of the costumes are Disney themed. My sister and I had brain stormed prior to our trip, wanting something Disney but more unique than movie characters. We ended up doing a theme from the ride "It's a Small World." And yes, I hope that song is now stuck in your head.
All of us girls dressed up as a different doll from a different country and then my dad dressed as the iconic clock tower on the outside of the ride. My mom, sister and I bought costumes for ourselves but my mom made my dad's and then my sister sewed the costumes for the girls! And they were amazing!
Ginny was the Dutch girl.
Hazel was the French girl, which in California is a pink dress but my sister took the extra step to make it look like the doll at in the ride at Disneyland Paris!
June was from India.
Little Rosie was Polynesian.
Erin, Egypt.
My mom, Mexico.
Yours truly, Germany.
And lastly, the clock tower himself. (oddly not the first time my dad has dressed up like a clock...)
The party was fun! Lots of candy and trick or treating. There were villains everywhere and spooky themed walks along dark paths. We rode rides too and watched the world of color show that was Halloween themed.
And now, onto Part Two!

Wow! this already looks so amazing and exhausting! And I'm so incredibly impressed with the costumes!!
So I realized we never did get to go to downtown Disney ourselves this time and there looks like there was some really fun stuff there. When we went to D 23 a couple of years back we had discounted room rates through D 23 and got to stay at the grand Californian Hotel. Because we stayed there we often walked through downtown Disney and got to see a lot more there and it was fun. And I loved our costumes for the Halloween party, but it went way too fast and so I feel like we should have another party with all of our costumes to still celebrate somehow. Still kind of sad Buck and Dan and the two boys weren’t there.
